The Board of Directors of the Midwest Bat Working Group consists of 11 persons who are elected by the membership.
Any member of the MWBWG may be elected to the Board, and an interested person may be nominated by another member or through self-nomination. A nominee for a vacant position on the Board should send a brief statement of her/his qualifications and a photograph to a member of the Nominations and Elections Committee. The Committee collates the information and presents a list of nominees to the full membership, by email, at least 30 days prior to the annual meeting.
Voting is open to all paid members and is completed by email prior to the first day of the annual meeting. The results are tallied by the Nominations and Elections Committee, communicated to the current Board of Directors on the morning of the first day of the Annual Meeting, and then announced to the members of the MWBWG.
Newly elected Directors are expected to join the incumbent Directors at a brief Board Meeting at the end of the Annual Meeting, at which they will assume their duties and begin a 2-year term. Officers of the Society (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer) are elected from the members of the Board by simple majority of the Directors.
