Tim Carter is currently the Chair of the Department of Environment, Geology and Natural Resources and the Director of the Field Stations and Environmental Education Center. He also maintains his role as a Professor in the Department of Biology all at Ball State University, Muncie, IN. In the past he taught Mammalogy, Wildlife Biology, general biology and other classes. Dr. Carter has worked with bats extensively for the past 25 years and has focused on the Endangered Indiana bat (Myotis sodalis) for the past 19 years. His interests center on non-game and endangered species, also most recently the impacts of current land management decisions including urban wildlife issues.
