Jocelyn Karsk is an Assistant Mammalogist at the Illinois Natural History Survey working with the Illinois Department of Transportation contract. She conducts surveys for threatened and endangered (T&E) mammals throughout the state, with a primary focus on T&E bat species. She began serving on the MWBWG board of directors in 2018 and is active on the awards committee and annual meeting committee. Jocelyn's greatest contributions to the board have been leading the charge in adopting an inclusive Code of Conduct for our membership, creating an annual meeting planning document for future meeting hosts, and co-hosting the 2021 virtual conference and the 2023 conference in Champaign, IL. She looks forward to continuing to help MWBWG build and engage with our membership, hold annual conferences, and continue the mission of bringing collaboration and communication to citizens and professional biologists across various organizations.
